After she found out that her husband was having an affair with her best friend and her long time secretary, she was heartbroken. Their 14 year marriage took turned to divorce. Within months, she was seen dating her best friend’s ex-husband and it looked like a revenge date. However, things got serious and Shania married again in 2011. When her current husband told her that Lange was cheating on her, she never believed him. He said that he had proof for that and he returned back a few days later with the bill of the hotel they stayed in and other details. Her best friend initially denied all the reports about her relationship with Lange. She asked people not to believe all they hear. Even when the affair became public, she kept denying. Lange too denied of having an affair with his wife’s best friend and said that the separation is because they both were growing apart.

While trying to heal herself from the divorce, she trusted her ex-best friend’s ex-husband and he was very supportive. The time they spent together made him change from friend to boyfriend. She was not able to sing for a few years after the divorce. After her second marriage, she came back to the stage, after 5 years. After witnessing domestic violence during her childhood, death of her parents and the longtime stage fear, it took a lot of time for her to get back her form on stage. She was separated from her father when she was very young. She and her mother were constantly abused by her mother’s husband. When she was old enough, she started to fight back for her mother and he got abused in the process too. She somehow convinced her mother to run away with her to Toronto. She was struck with poverty for very long with no proper food and clothing. When Lange left her for her best friend, she felt the same way she was devastated, when she was young. Now, she is filled with anxiety and insecure, yet she is trying very hard and taking every measure to go back to norm.
