Leadership and Stanley Cup Triumph

In 2007, at just 19 years old, Crosby was named captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins. During the 2007–08 season, he led the team to the Stanley Cup Final, although they lost to the Detroit Red Wings in six games. In the following season (2008–09), Crosby guided the Penguins to a rematch against the Red Wings, this time prevailing in a seven-game series. With the victory, he became the youngest captain in NHL history to lead his team to a Stanley Cup championship.
