Career Beginnings in Fashion

London began her fashion career as a fashion assistant at Vogue magazine. She later advanced to the role of senior fashion editor at Mademoiselle. Over the years, she has styled for a number of prominent celebrities and major brands, including Kate Winslet, Liv Tyler, Hanes, Wonderbra, CoverGirl, Suave, Target, and Calvin Klein.

What Not to Wear and Mainstream Success

In 2003, Stacy London rose to national prominence as the co-host of TLC’s popular makeover reality show What Not to Wear. Her frank yet compassionate approach to style guidance resonated with audiences. During this time, she also co-authored the book Dress Your Best, which offered practical fashion advice tailored to different body types and lifestyles.

Brand Partnerships and Business Ventures

Between 2009 and 2010, London became a spokesperson for several brands including Pantene, Woolite, Dr. Scholl’s, and Lee. In 2010, she launched Style for Hire, an online professional styling service designed to make personal styling accessible. At its peak, the company employed 135 stylists across 24 cities, helping individuals feel confident through personalized fashion choices.
