Stephen Ambrose Sirkisian was born on 8th March, 1974 in Torrance, California. Steve went to Brigham Young University in California, where he played football as a quarterback. He has remained a former football player and American football coach. From the year 2014-15 he served as the Head football coach of the USC (University of Southern California). From 2009 to 2014 he was the head coach of university of Washington. As a football player his professional career was spent with CFL (Canadian Football League). Early Life and Career
Steve attended the West High School in Torrance, California. Here he was an outstanding football and baseball player. At University of Southern California, he started his athletic career as an infielder in Baseball. It was the year 1992 and Steve was selected on non scholarship basis. His 6 feet height was not impressive much to guarantee him an acceptable football career in college. At USC he worked hard and finally played NCAA Division I Baseball. He later transferred to a community college in EI Camino. Here, he played baseball on shortstop.
It was in the year 1993 when Steve started his football career as a redshirt freshman. In EI Camino College, he set a junior record for by completing 72.4 percent passes. Due to this, he was named as Junior College All American.
He played most of his seasons from 1995 to onwards with the Brigham Young University. Here, he was recruited by the assistant coach of the BYU Cougars, Dewayne Walker. At BYU, he also earned the All Western Athletic Conference Honors.
Professional Career as a Football Coach
Steve’s playing football career is much shorter. He played only three seasons from 1997 t0 1999. He played with Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football league. Steve left his career after his team lost in 1999 season so badly.
In 2000 he started his coaching career from the EI Camino Community College. In 2001 he started assisting Norm Chow, the Head Coach of University of Southern California. Here, he worked as the offensive coordinator. His career as a coach with NFL started when he coached the Oakland Raiders as a quarterback coach. At 8th December 2008 Steve was introduced as the head coach of University of Washington’s football team. During the first coaching year of Steve, Washington University finished the season with a record wins of 5-7. His contract with USC was renewed in 2015, raising him to net worth of $2.83 million. Due to his long absence, he was terminated by the USC. He later filed suit of $30 million against USC for wrong termination.
