Susan Neher was born on February 22, 1959, in the United States. From a young age, she demonstrated an interest in acting and quickly found opportunities on television. Her first credited appearance was in 1968, when she played Lana in the "Family Affair" episode titled "The Latch Key Kid." This role marked the beginning of a brief but noteworthy acting career.
Neher gained prominence for her role as Joanie Cunningham in the original pilot episode of what would later become the hit TV show Happy Days. From 1969 to 1971, she played Penny Endicott in the CBS comedy series To Rome With Love. She continued her acting journey as Jennifer Conway in the short-lived teen sitcom Getting Together, which aired from 1971 to 1972.
