Taylor Michael Momsen, also known as Jenny Humphrey from the popular television show Gossip Girl is an American musician, actress and model. She was born on July 26th, 1993 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She has a younger sister who is also an actress. Her ancestors belonged to Russia so she is a Russian Catholic. She started working at an age when she couldn't even understand that she was working. In an interview she told- "My parents signed me at the age of two for modelling with Ford. My life was disturbing as it was in and out of the school. I did not have a life as I was constantly working. I didn't have friends."
She appeared in the movie- "The Prophet's Game" in 1999 and played the role of Honey Bee Swan. From here only she made her debut in movies. She was auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana which gradually went to Miley Cyrus. Had it been in her fate it would have made a big difference to her career. She played the character of Gretel in the motion picture- Hensel and Gretel (2002). She then appeared in 'Spy Kids: The Island of Lost Dreams' and portrayed the President's Daughter.
Her career took a halt of nearly three years and then she came back with a bang. She got a lead role in WB series 'Misconception'. She started appearing in many movies and tv shows, like 2006 film- Saving Shiloh.
Her television career took many turns. In 2007, she played the character of Jenny Humphrey in 'The WB' television series 'Gossip Girls' which is based on the book of series by Cecily Von Ziegesar. The fact that her appearance in the show became very rare, she told Elle Magazine that she had quit acting to concentrate on her music career.
As said in beginning, modelling is a part of her career. In June 2008, at the age of 14, Momen signed to IMG Models. On the basis of her beauty and talent she is currently the face of Samantha Thavasa's handbag line. She graced the cover of FHM'S March 2012 edition and FHM ranked her at 29th position in its Hot 100 issues. Taylor momsen was ranked 91th in 2014 on Maxim’s “Hot 100” list.
All this was part of her journey, a journey which started at the age of two. But she finally landed up where she was meant to be. In an interview she said -"Music is where I can be Me. Acting is easy. I've been doing it for so long and I totally love it. But you're playing a character instead of yourself. Music is more personal because you are writing it and you're involved in its each step." She is currently working with the band 'The Pretty Reckness'. The band has released two albums with moderate success. Her net worth is $2.5 Million. She also has a large fan following at 1.03 Million on Twitter.
