Timothy Johnson

Timothy Johnson is an American mixed martial artist who was born on March 13, 1985, in Lamberton, Minnesota, in the United States. During his collegiate career, Johnson was a two-time All-American wrestler at Division II Minnesota State University Moorhead. His professional mixed martial arts debut came in October of 2010 when he competed primarily for regional organizations in North Dakota. Johnson had a record of 7-1 when he was signed with the UFC in 2014. He made his promotional debut in a matchup against Shamil Abdurakhimov on April 4, 2015, during UFC Fight Night 63. Johnson won the fight against Abdurakhimov with a knock out in the final seconds of the first round. He went on to fight Jared Rosholt on August 8, 2015, during UFC Fight Night 73. Johnson managed to stagger and nearly finish Rosholt but the judges agreed Johnson had lost the fight. He returned to the Octagon in April of 2016 during UFC Fight Night 86 where he faced Marcin Tybura who was making his own debut. He won the fight and went on to fight four more times for the UFC before announcing on April 13, 2018, that he had signed a multi-fight contract with Bellator MMA. He trains at the Academy of Combat Arts in Fargo, North Dakota where he currently resides.
