Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer full name is Urban Frank Meyer III. He was born in the year 1964 and he is an American college football coach and he was also a player in the past. Now he is the head coach of football team of Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also the head coach of Bowling Green Falcons, Utah Utes and Florida Gators. Meyer was born in Ohio and grew up there before he joined the University of Cincinnati. He played football there. While studying at the University of Florida, he was the coach of the gators and led the team twice to the BCS National Championship Game in the year 2006 and 2008 season. His winning percentage of .842, it was the highest in all active coaches with the minimum of five full seasons on football Bowl Subdivision. When he was in a temporary retirement in the year 2011, he was working like an analyst for the college football for the television sports network of ESPN.

When Urban Meyer was at the university of Cincinnati, he started the relationship with Shelley Mather Meyer when she was still a freshman nursing student of Sigma Chi. They got married in the year 1986. They have three children, Nicole, Gisele and Nathan. His two daughters play in the division I Volleyball, one daughter, Nicki plays for Georgia Tech while the other daughter Gigi plays in Florida Gulf coast. Mayer is a roman catholic and together with his family, they live in Ohio. His wife grew up in a farm found in Lataville in Ohio. They met at the party of Kentucky Derby and they got married after five years.

In the year 2009, Meyer had to be admitted in the Gainesville Hospital when he was suffering dehydration and chest pain. When he got released, he decided to give more thought to his life. The doctor told him to take care of himself more since the problem may result into the cardiovascular risk factors in the future. After sometime, it was found out the chest pain where the result of the gastroesophageal reflux disease and the doctors also found out that he was suffering an arachnoid cyst in the brain and this was giving him too much headaches. The two problems were the results of the stress.

By reading his biography, he did the first coaching job as internship like a defensive back coach of Saint Xavier School of Cincinnati. After that, he moved to Ohio State where he worked like a graduate for two years. He spent 13 years while working as an assistant coach in Illinois State, Colorado State and Notre Dame.

In 2011, Urban Meyer accepted to become the head coach for Ohio State and he was given the six year contract with a salary of 4 million per year with a retention payment of 2.4 million.
