Whitney Cummings is an American comedian who created the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls which ran for six seasons. She was born and raised near Washington, D.C. She interned at WRC-TV as a journalist and studied acting at Studio Theater.
She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 with a Communications degree. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles and began working for MTV in 2004. She began performing stand-up that same year.
She has performed on Last Comic Standing, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and Last Call with Carson Daly, among many others. She produced an hour long special for Comedy Central in June of 2014 and was one of the head writers and producers for the ABC 2018 revival of Roseanne.
