Early life

Considering who her father was, it is no surprise that Zosia showed interest towards acting at a really early stage of her life. Her father, David Mamet, was a playwright, screenwriter, film director as well as screenwriter. On top of that her mother, Lindsay Crouse, was also an actress and her grandfather was a playwright. It’s safe to say that Zosia comes from a long line of acting personas and it is absolutely no wonder that she took off this path.

She was raised in New England until she turned five years old and she and her mother moved to the Pacific Palisades in California. She has a sister, Willa, who is now a photographer. Right after she graduated from high school, Zosia decided that it is time to start pursuing her acting career and with this decision she skipped college.

An interesting campaign

Back in May, 2013, Zosia and her other sister – Clara, started a crowd funding campaign which was called “KickStarter”. Through a variety of platforms they requested $32,000 for the shooting of the video for their song called “Bleak Love”. However, the project didn’t go so well and they even got heavily criticized from a lot of media. They pointed out that this is an extremely expensive endeavor and that the money would be spent in order for the sisters to spend time together.

In return for the donations, the Mamets would offer a variety of different things like for instance a 45 minute call through Skype in exchange for $2,000. The project was ultimately closed and it only managed to reach about 6% of the initial funding request which is somewhere around $3,000.

In any case, Zosia’s most impressive appearances on the screen would include the TV Series Mad Men as well as the Parenthood and United States of Tara. She starred as Shoshanna Shapiro on the TV Series produced by HBO, called Girls.

Personal life

In an interview back in 2013 Zosia revealed that her interest lies within television series rather than movie productions. Her biography also tends to steer in this direction and she has many more televised appearances on TV series.

At the same time Mamet has an Instagram account with over 140 thousand followers and more than 400 posts already. She could also be followed on her personal Twitter account. It is undeniable that for her young age Zosia has managed to catch the attention of a lot of film producers and we can be sure that there will be a lot more of her in the near future.
