John Royce "Johnny" Mathis, better known as Johnny Mathis is a very popular singer and jazz
musician. One of the biggest selling artist of the 20th century, he
has released a number of hit songs and albums, with his appearance in some TV
roles too. He is known to have performed in wide genre of music like Brazilian
pop, soul music, blues, jazz, country songs as well as some disco songs that
used to be fast and with high beat. He and his friends began their career as
performers in weekend nights in local bars of San Francisco, and he was able to
impress one of the owners of the Black Hawk Club. She arranged his meeting with
George Avakian, who was in Columbia Music, and was so much impressed by Johnny
that he agreed any terms, that would come forward. He asked for a contract
paper from his company to be delivered it to San Francisco and asked for a
blank contract. After signing contracts, he got an apartment in New York City
and also started his first recording that came out in 1957 as Johnny Mathis: A New Sound In Popular Song.
After experimenting on Mathis, he started to change his tone and sang slowly,
