Khandi Alexander is a professional
American dancer, choreographer as well as an actress. She has appeared in many
movies and TV shows, but is best known for her role of Dr. Alexx Woods in CSI: Miami as well as in HBO’s Treme, where she played the character of LaDonna Batiste-Williams. Dancing from a very young age, she started out as an
actress after appearing in small TV roles from later 80s. Her first notable
role came in 1985, after she appeared in FTV, a sketch-comedy show. Toward early
1990, she started to concentrate in more pivotal roles that came in TV shows
and movies such as Sugar Hill, Poetic Justice,
What's Love Got to Do with It and CB4.
