Gary Pinkel 

Gary Robin Pinkel is a former football coach of many major teams including University of Missouri Tigers. He is recognized as the most winning coach in the history of Toledo.

Personal life

He was born in 1952. His parents’ names are not known to media. He was born in Ohio and graduated from Kenmore High School. He got his bachelor degree in 1973 and started his career in the same university. He is fighting non-Hodgkins lymphoma now.

He announced his engagement with Missy in 2014 and announced that they would get married by the fall of the same year. They made their own wedding site to announce the date too. Due to unknown reasons, the wedding did not happen and this led to a lot of rumors of separation. Some stated that he did not want to marry as he was very old. Neither of them commented on the stories. He got married to Missy Pinkel in 2016 when he was around 60 years old. There was no break up after the wedding was cancelled. They continued to date. He spends his time with motorcycle riding and family time. His wife once told that, he used to wake her up every now and then to talk about football. They love to visit off-bucket concerts. Missy had been married before and has a daughter from her previous marriage. Gary has very good relationship with his stepdaughter.

Career

He coached in University of Kent State after graduating under Don James, his former coach. He worked with Bowling Green for two years. In 1991, he became the head coach of Toledo. Later, he did his post graduation at Kent State. After winning quite a few times, he went to Missouri in 2000. He took the tigers for ten bowl games and won six of them. He also ended their losing streak with Nebraska in 2003. In 2008, he signed a seven year contract for 2.3 million dollars. In 2015, he announced that he would retire as he was having cancer and wanted to spend more time with his friends and family. He has a net worth of ten million dollars.

He is awarded with numerous awards and recognitions for his work. He was included in the hall of fame in 2009. In 1995 and 1997, he was awarded with MAC coach of the year award. He got SEC coach of the year award in 2014. Now he focuses on fundraising and public relationships.
