From a very young age, Aaron Kaufman had a strong interest in breaking things apart and then combining them back together to its original form. While kids his age were playing with toys like LEGOs, Aaron was concentrating on any object he could find even if it wasn’t a toy. While growing up as a young man, he learned to fabricate and repair things by himself. Even though Aaron didn’t have anyone to teach him, his curiosity helped him solve problems. By using trial and error, Aaron was able to learn through his deconstruction and construction of the objects he worked with.

Aaron became a proficient fabricator, mechanic and a hot rodder during the his developing years. Even at a young age, he strived to be better at what he did. He always wanted to keep improving his work and he was never satisfied with his first attempts. His passion drove him to become one of the most efficient people in his line of work.

Aaron’s passion for cars was first noticed by Richard Rawlings when Richard went to a local car shop where Aaron used to work. Richard was in need of someone who could drive his ’53 Ford Mainline. He asked the car shop who their best worker was because he was hoping to find someone that would be qualified to drive his car. Aaron was selected for the job. The passion and pride Aaron took in his work attracted Richard to him. Aaron’s first project with Richard went well and Aaron left a big enough impression to be considered for future work.

When Richard started working for Gas Monkey Garage, he remembered Aaron’s determination and passion. Richard asked Aaron to work with him on his next upcoming project. He knew that he could count on Aaron because of their previous past relationship that was successful and beneficial to both sides. Aaron was lucky that he impressed Richard on the first project they did together. Aaron's connection to Richard would be the catalyst that pushed Aaaron on a journey of putting his mechanical talent to great use.

Aaron Kaufman started working with Richard Rawlings on a full time basis when they starred together on a show called Fast N’ Loud. The program started airing on the Discovery Channel on June 6, 2012. The show featured Aaron Kaufman and Richard Rawlings as the proprietors of the Gas Monkey garage which is located in Dallas, Texas. Aaron was happy that he didn’t have to move away from his home state for the show. It would have been difficult for him to uproot his life for a TV show even though the money would made the move worth it. Aaron was fortunate that the show would take place in a city that was close to his home.
