Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman was born in London, England. He attended Latymer Upper School, later studying at Chelsea College of Art and Design. He then enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he honed his craft in acting. Before pursuing a career in performing arts, Rickman initially worked as a graphic designer and even co-founded a successful graphic design firm with close friends.
Rickman began his professional acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he performed in both classical and contemporary theater productions.
