Alison Starling 

Alison Loll Starling-Alexander was born on October 28, 1973 in Orlando, Florida to Dolores Starling and Bruce Starling. She spent a part of her childhood in the Washington D.C. because she was from a military family. Alison’s father worked for the Office of the United States Trade Representative for a while, until they moved back to Florida. She attended University of Florida and graduated in the 1995. After college, she earned a Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship from Rotary International to study in Tours, France for six months at the same year.

She began her career as a reporter and anchor at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After that worked for three years at KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington where she covered the Seattle Earthquake. Alison Starling covered the Seattle Earthquake while she lived in the Pacific Northwest and the Tacoma connection to the D.C.-area sniper case. Alison returns to the capital for new work. Alison Starling joined WJLA-TV in August 2003. Since January of 2004 she was co-anchor of noon broadcast and WJLA-TV's morning program "Good Morning Washington". She also is a co-anchor of WJLA-TV's weekday 4 PM, 5PM and 11PM newscasts. Alison was named one of the "rising stars" of local television in Washington, D.C., by "Washingtonian" in the 2005. In November of 2006, Alison Starling appear in popular series "Working Woman" by continuing Kathleen's Matthews work of talking about women in the Washington area who contribute to the community in unique ways. In addition to her anchor career, she appeared in numerous news, she covered the aftermath of the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy live from Texas. Starling takes a part in project "Terrorism Alert Desk" feature that airs on Sinclair-owned stations in the United States.

In 2009, Alison Starling was named the National Capital Region's Big Sister of the Year. Alison involved in different charity events, including the events benefiting Breast Cancer research, the National Foundation for Cancer Research and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Alison gets an Emmy Award winning anchor currently anchoring the 5PM and 11 PM newscasts with Leon Harris. In 2012, Alison won Emmys for Best Anchor and for Continuing Coverage for the 2011 Earthquake. Starling also co-anchors of Politico.com's "Playback" video segment, which shows excerpts of late night television shows discussing political news. In the 2013 Washingtonian readers named her one of their favorites in the Best of Local News.

Alison met Peter Alexander, who was NBC News correspondent in the 2001, when she worked in Seattle. They begin dating later, when Peter moved to the capital in the 2009. They became engaged in France in August of 2011. The wedding date was on April 21, 2012 atop the Newseum in Washington DC. Alison and her husband welcomed two children Ava Starling Alexander, who was born in 2013 and Emma Pink Alexander, born in 2015. Alison, her husband Peter, and their daughters currently reside in Northern Virginia. Their net worth is around millions with an estimated combined salary of $400,000 annually.
