Amy Dumas biography

Amy Dumas is an American professional wrestler and singer who is currently signed with the World Wide Entertainment Network as an analyst. Amy Christine Dumas was born on April 14, 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Amy graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, before going on to attend Georgia State University. Amy became interested in wrestling after seeing Rey Mysterio Jr. on an episode of Monday Nitro.

She moved to Mexico to learn more about the sport, funding her training by dancing in a club under the pseudonym Misty. She trained with various wrestlers such as Kevin Quinn and Ricky Santana and performed in the ring for the Empresa de la Lucha Libre (Mexican Wrestling Enterprise). Amy returned to the United States and worked in Maryland Championship Wrestling under the ring name Angelica. Amy was Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Woman of the Year in 2001. Amy published her autobiography, Lita: A Less Traveled R.O.A.D.-The Reality of Amy Dumas in 2003. Amy also has several television credits to her name including appearances on Dark Angel, Fear Factor, and Headbangers Ball. Amy wrestled under the ring name Lita for the WWE and is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014.
