Along with her reporting duties, Cambern focuses on health issues and was given many awards for her journalism work and charity contributions. She was honored with six Emmy awards for her anchoring and reporting jobs. She was also named Female Anchor of the Year by the National Association of Television Journalists and has received praised from the Associated Press for her excellent news coverage and medical productions.
