Early Life:

Ashley was raised by his grandparents after his parents died when he was young. When he was asked if he was ever bullied as a child, he said that he was always a cool kid. Where he grew up, he was popular because he was different. Unlike the instances where he heard about kids being picked on for being different, he had a natural talent for being an artist and was very athletic, he was always the one from my neighborhood and school that introduced everyone to new music, fashion styles, trends, etc. Talking about his educational background, he went to a local high school. He went to Academy of Art in San Francisco then again transferred to Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. He is a graduate in with BFA in Communication Design and with an emphasis on Marketing and Advertising.

Ashley lived in Missouri until he was 18, then he moved to LA to become a graphic designer. He studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco for some time then he transferred to Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, where he graduated with a BFA in Communication Design with an emphasis on Marketing and Advertising. Most of his thesis’ and projects in school were fashion and advertising based. Purdy began his career as a graphic designer. He also worked with several smaller bands. He began his career as a professional bassist with the American rock band, Veil Brides.

He has been working as a metal bassist and backing vocalist for Black Veil Brides.He has been nominated for Kerrang! Hottest Male Award. He was nominated for 100 Greatest Living Rock Stars 2011. That same year, Purdy and his band won the “Revolver’s Golden God Awards: Best New Band 2011”. They also won the “WGRD’s 2011 Favorite Listener Band of The Year” in 2011. He and his band have been nominated for several awards and he has had a very successful career. Ashley has a height of 5 feet 11 inches and weighs 64kg. His eye color is blue and hair color is brown. His shoe size is unknown. He was in a relationship with model, Kina Tavarozi, for some time during his early career. They broke up later, but remain friends. In 2015, he was seen cozying up with adult star Nikki Benz, which caused a furor among his social media fans. In fact, in order to avoid continuous bashing from his followers, he even deleted all his social media accounts during this time. However, he later returned to social media and clarified that he was not dating Benz, but they were just friends. Ashley Purdy's journey to become the bassist of Black Veil Brides is an interesting one. He initially moved to Los Angeles with the dream of becoming a graphics designer.
