Bonner Bolton was born on June 1, 1987, in Odessa, Texas. Raised on a ranch, he spent much of his childhood training horses alongside his siblings. His father, Toya Bolton, was a professional rodeo cowboy with a career spanning over fifteen years, significantly influencing Bonner's interest in rodeo sports.
Bonner entered the junior rodeo circuit at the age of ten. He later earned scholarships through bull riding, which helped fund his education at Odessa College and Texas Tech University.
Bolton launched his professional bull riding career as a young adult and achieved his most notable win in 2007 when he was crowned the World Champion by Championship Bull Riding at the age of 20. He continued to compete at a high level throughout his career.
