Brad Marchland was born May 11, 1988 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He currently plays for the Boston Bruins.
Marchland's known for playing dirty on the ice and has faced numerous fines for foul play. In 2011 he received a two-game suspension for elbowing a player, as well as a $2,500 fine for slew-footing someone. In 2012 he received a five-game ban for a predatory low-bridge hit, and another five games for clipping and slew-footing players in 2015. He was fined the maximum amount, $10,000, in February 2017 for a dangerous trip. He was suspended for another five games and fined $7,000 the following year. He was also famously involved for kissing or licking the necks of players Ryan Callahan and Leo Komarov during play.
Antics aside, Marchland has played in several international tournaments representing Canada. He played in the 2007 and 2008 World Ice Hockey Championships, the 2016 IIHF World Championship, and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and each time was awarded a gold medal.
Brad married his long time girlfriend, Katrina Sloane, in September of 2015. Katrina has a son from a previous relationship, and in the summer of 2017 Brad and Katrina had a child of their own.
