Acting Career and Breakthrough Roles

Jane’s early acting credits include a role in the Indian Telugu-language film Padamati Sandhya Ragam in 1987 and a part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992). He gradually gained prominence through supporting roles in major films such as The Crow: City of Angels (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), The Thin Red Line (1998), Thursday (1998), and Magnolia (1999). These performances established him as a versatile and dedicated actor.

The Punisher and Physical Transformation

Jane is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Frank Castle in The Punisher (2004). He was offered the role twice before ultimately accepting it. To prepare, he immersed himself in Punisher comic books and underwent intensive physical training with Navy SEALs. He gained approximately 20 pounds of muscle for the role, a transformation that was crucial to portraying the character faithfully.
