Family Background and Early Life

Carmen Blanchard is the middle child of Elizabeth and Mark Blanchard-Boulbol, both of whom are professional yoga instructors. She was born on September 8, 2003. Carmen has a diverse ethnic background, including Armenian heritage from her paternal grandfather and Dutch, English, and Swedish roots from her paternal grandmother. She grew up between her older sister, Rowan Blanchard, and her younger brother, Shane Blanchard.

Her older sister, Rowan, gained widespread recognition for her role as Riley Matthews in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World. The siblings shared a close bond during childhood and often participated in family-organized concerts, showcasing their mutual love for singing and dancing.

Early Exposure to Entertainment

The family’s fun-loving environment played a role in launching the sisters’ paths into acting. During one of their informal performances, the idea arose to take five-year-old Rowan to a Disney casting call. This marked the beginning of Rowan’s acting journey, eventually leading her to a prominent role with the Disney Channel.

Inspired by her sister's success, Carmen Blanchard made her own acting debut in 2011, appearing in the first season of the television series American Horror Story. She portrayed a younger version of Violet Harmon, a teenager grappling with complex emotions after her family's move to Los Angeles. While the role was brief, Carmen's performance as Young Violet earned attention within the industry.
