When she was a child, Caroline went to watch a Cinderella play. A character named Buttons asked for a volunteer from the crowd. Caroline was picked and she still remembers how fascinating it was to get on the stage. That was when she decided to pursue acting to her career. She got an adrenaline rush when she was on stage and performing for the crowd. The crowd adored her and Caroline loved the attention that was getting from a group of strangers.

Caroline started acting professionally in the 90s. She took on small roles and got her first TV movie role in a film called The Guilty in 1992. In 1994, she took on a major role in a film called All Quiet on the Preston Front. It was a big deal for Caroline because it was produced by BBC.

Caroline was actually born Caroline Caplan but she had to change her name when she decided to become an actress. When she went to register her real name with the acting agency Equity, she found out that thee was already an actress with her real name. She decided to adopt the stage last name Catz. It was a unique last name that she hoped would help her land roles.

Since 2004, she has been featured in the popular TV show Doc Martin as the headmistress of the primary school. Doc Martin is a British television medical comedy drama series that stars Martin Clunes in the title role.

Even though her main job is Doc Martin, she takes many roles in films like Denial of Murder, Hotel Babylon, and Single Handed and many others.

In 2009, she stared in Déjà vu of BBC Radio 4. It was a unique experience for Caroline because she was acting on radio. In the old days, actors had to act on radio before there was television. Even though it isn’t as popular in modern times, it was still considered a major talent back then. There was a famous moment when the director of Citizen Kane got on the radio and pretended that aliens were attacking. His speech was so realistic that people started going crazy and believed that aliens were actually attacking. Caroline got a taste of how she could expand her acting abilities by just acting for a listening audience.

In 2014, she got behind the camera and directed a documentary called A Message to the World.

She also played parts in many stage productions. She was able to relive her childhood Cinderella moment when she got on stage as a professional actor.
