Chandler Riggs was born on June 27, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia. He began his acting career at the age of seven, appearing in the independent short film "Jesus H. Zombie" where he played the role of Egon. He also made his musical theatre debut in Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, performing as a Munchkin in a production of "The Wizard of Oz." In 2009, Riggs gained early recognition when he was cast as Tom in the film "Get Low." That same year, he appeared in the TV movie "The Wronged Man," playing a minor role.
