Early Life

Charles Payne was enlisted by the Air Force of the United States of America at the age of 17. He was consequently deployed to North Dakota, where he served at the Minot Air Force Base, located in Minot, as a Security Policeman. He studied at Central Texas College and the Minot State University while still in service. At the age of 25, he was employed by E.F Hutton, located in Wall Street as an analyst.

Career

Charles Payne is currently a contributor to the Fox Business Network. He is also the host of Making Money with Charles Payne, which features Fox. Before he became the program host, he was initially on Varney & Co as a co-host. He joined the Fox Business Network when it started in October 2007. Charles Payne is further a Fox News Channel contributor. He also regularly features in tv shows, including Bulls and bears, Cavuto on business, and Cashin' In. Apart from working in Fox Business Network, he has his syndicated talk show that he hosts daily. The talk show which the Sun Broadcasting Group hosts is titled The Payne Nation.

Furthermore, Charles Payne is the principal financial analyst and chief executive officer of an independent research firm on stock marketing known as the Wall Street Strategies. He established the Wall Street Strategies in the year 1991.

Payne paid a civil punishment of $25,000 in 1999 with the Security and Exchange Commissions. After he was accused of recommending his clients buy stock from suggested members through recorded messages, this was after he was charged with advising his clients. He was accused of having carried out this act at least eight times. The accusation also stated that he did not reveal that he was paid by such Member stock for promotion. He, however, did not deny or admit the allegations before agreeing to pay the fine.

Payne released his debut book in 2007, which he titled Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich Quick: Your Game Plan for Getting It Right in the Stock Market.

Rape accusation

Fox Business suspended Payne in July 2017 pending the outcome of an investigation into allegations of rape leveled against him by a former network guest, Scottie Nell Hughes. Payne denied the charge but admitted having been in a "romantic relationship" with Hughes for three years before the accusation was leveled against him. While the affair was going on, Hughes claimed she was staying in an apartment near Fox's Manhattan headquarters in the hopes of securing a permanent position with the network as a result of her involvement. Her public appearances were significantly curtailed after she ended the affair in 2015 and reported Payne to Fox News media outlet. Payne's suspension was lifted on September 8, 2017.

Payne currently lives in Teaneck, which is located in New Jersey. He is married to his wife, Yvonne Payne. The union is blessed with a child whose name is Charles Payne.
