Simpson’s inspiration was his dad who played the guitar at backyard barbeques. He was 7 when he got his first guitar and then started his guitar lessons. Simpson has three albums to his credit. They are Paradise, Surfers Paradise and Angels and Gentlemen. All his songs he co-wrote on the album Surfers Paradise relate to his roots on the Gold Coast. Staying true to himself, his life back home influences his work.

Simpson has a huge female teen fan following and is inevitably compared to Justin Bieber. He toured with Bieber and described him as a great mate. However, Simpson and Bieber are taking different music paths.  Over the past few years, his career has been growing steadily.

Simpson’s other interests lie in swimming. A competitive swimmer, he bagged two gold medals at the Queensland Swimming Championships. Initially he thought of making swimming his career. 

Simpson romanced Gigi Hadid for a year. Simpson and his then girlfriend Hadid went on a vacation to the Caribbean. They headed for St. Lucia and celebrated the New Year on a romantic Caribbean cruise. Their love for each other was no longer under wraps. She posted a photo of herself facing the camera in a bikini and Simpson had his back to the camera with his hand on her hip, and her arms wrapped around his neck. Truly a very romantic and suggestive photo it was. Simpson did a shoot for the Surfboard music video with Hadid. Their chemistry was so natural that they were asked to stop kissing. After a year of dating, the couple called it quits. Blame it on their busy working schedule and distance. 

Simpson is a close friend of Kylie Jenner and Bella Thorne whom he dated briefly in the past but did not marry either of them. He is not married and hence a divorce in his life may be or may not be.

Mid-December is summer in Australia, and every December Simpson goes back to Australia to holiday with his friends and family on the beaches. He loves being in the company of his friends and enjoys his vacations at the beach.
