Craig Venter

Craig was born on 14 October 1946. He was born under the zodiac sign of Libra and he was born in Salt Lake City in the United States of America. The name of his father is John Venter and the name of his mother is Elizabeth Venter. Craig had been really fond of water sports when he was young and he completed his schooling from Mills High School in California.  It is known that he was never much interested in studies. It is known that he tried to kill himself during the war as he was serving the Navy during the war. To kill himself, he swam to the water with sharks but he later changed his mind and he escaped the deep sea without any harm. This was a turning point for him as he decided to study medicine so that he can help the people who are injured in the war. To study medicine, he later went to College of San Mateo and then he went to the University of California. In 1984, it was reported that Craig joined National Institute of Health.

During his tenure at National Institute of Health, Craig was a part of major controversy but later the controversy was dissolved. He also worked on Human Genome Project. He was able to map the human genome by 2000.

In 2002, it was reported that Craig was fired from the organization he was working for. With this began a journey to explore oceans. The aim of the project was to understand the genetic diversity in microbes present in marine life. He completed his project in 2006 and later he joined an institute which is known for its work in synthetic life.

Basically, the company changes the genes of the bacteria to suit the needs of modern world. They also created a bacteria which helps in the production of biofuel. He named the new bacteria as Mycoplasma Laboratorium. He revealed that the bacteria is helpful in creating medicines and fuels and at the same time the bacteria can help humans in fighting global warming as well.

In March 2016, they created a better version of synthetic life bacteria it is also known that Craig and his team worked on projects which could enhance the life expectancy of human beings. The team won several awards for their contribution.

Craig had been married thrice in his entire life. First, he was married to Barbara in 1968 and he later filed a divorce. Then in 1981, his wife was Claire M Fraser and their marriage lasted for 24 years.

Later in 2005, the couple filed for divorce and then after staying single for 3 years, Craig married Heather Kowalski in 2008. At present, the couple is married and they life together. It is known that Craig has one child and the name of his son is Christopher Venter. The annual salary of Craig is not known but it is estimated that his net worth is over 100 Million Dollars.
