Cree Summer

Cree Summer Francks was born on July 7, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, United States. Her father, Don Francks, was a Canadian musician and actor, and her mother, Lili Red Eagle, is of African-American and Plains Cree First Nations heritage. Cree holds dual citizenship as both American and Canadian.

She has one sibling, a brother named Rainbow Sun Francks, known for his work as a MuchMusic VJ and as an actor in Canadian television series.

Childhood and Education

During her early years, the family moved to Canada, settling first in the Red Pheasant Reserve in Saskatchewan. They later relocated to British Columbia, and eventually to Toronto when Cree was nine years old. It was in Toronto that she began formal schooling.
