Early Life and Education

Crystal Egger is an American meteorologist and a native of Grand Terrace, California. She attended Grand Terrace Junior High School followed by Colton High School. After graduating high school, Egger enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 2000.

Pursuing her growing interest in meteorology, she later completed the broadcast meteorology program at Mississippi State University. She became fluent in Spanish while studying at San Diego State University.

Broadcast Meteorology Career

Egger began her on-air meteorology career in 2004 with ITV Cable 16 in San Diego, California. She later became the lead weather anchor at KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 2007, she joined KDVR in Denver, Colorado, where she worked until 2010. During her time in Denver, she notably covered the Windsor tornado, a significant weather event in Colorado.

Role at The Weather Channel

Egger's strong performance and reporting skills led to her recruitment by The Weather Channel. There, she became a prominent on-air meteorologist and provided comprehensive weather updates for several major NBC platforms, including Weekend Today, CNBC, MSNBC, and NBC Nightly News. Her coverage during this period earned her recognition as one of the leading figures in television weather broadcasting.
