Background

Born on November 20, 1969, William Christopher "Dabo' Swinney was brought up in the city of Pelham in the state of Alabama. He completed his college education from the University of Alabama where he was given the title of a scholar in football.

He was interested in business and was given a degree in commerce and business administration and also received a master's degree in business administration from Alabama in the year 1955. He was honored and given a scholarship and also lettered in three teams which included Crimson Tide's 1992 National Championship team.

College Coaching Career

Dabo started his journey as a football coach when he was awarded a spot as the full-time assistant coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He took up his career in the direction of football by joining the Crimson Tide Football program in the year 1989.

Then in the year 2002, Swinney got a chance to be the assistant coach for the Clemson. Swinney was able to prove himself as the best coordinator in football.

During the college football season in the middle of 2008, Dabo took up the job of the head coach at Clemson. Because of his good reputation and name, he was awarded with the position of head coach with Clemson.  He has been doing great for himself ever since he made that decision.

With Clemson, Dabo Swinney got his first victory as the Tiger head's coach by beating Boston College. He was able to lead Clemson to a six-game win streak. Then came the next big moment in his life when he was able to gain more recognition when he produced 5 top 20 ESPN recruits, all in a single year.

Clemson was able to achieve numerous achievements in the year 2009 when Swinney was at helm in his first full season. The Clemson Tigers were trained to be finish in the top 25 for the season. There has been no looking back for the Clemson since the moment they gave the head coaching spot to Dabo. They have been able to win many awards and fame with the support of Dabo Swinney.

On April 12, 2016, Swinney signed a 6 year contract extension with the Tigers which signaled the amount of trust the college had in his coaching ability.

The Perfect Record

For the second time in his college football coaching career, Dabo Swinney became a national champion after his number 2 ranked Clemson Tigers demolished the number 1 ranked Alabama team. Many experts felt that the Alabama team could not be beat by anyone in college football. At Levi’s Stadium, Dabo changed that narrative his team won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship game.
