Dana Barron is an American actress who is perhaps best known for her role as Audrey Griswold in the 1983 film National Lampoon’s Vacation. Dana Barron was born on April 22, 1966, in New York City. Dana’s mother, Joyce McCord, is a stage actress and her father, Robert Weeks Baron, was a pastor and director of commercials. Robert is credited with founding The Weist-Barron School of Television; the first acting school in the world to specialize in acting for soap operas and commercials. Dana started doing television commercials at the age of ten, and by age of eleven, was appearing on Broadway. Dana appeared in her first film at the age of thirteen; the film, He Knows You’re Alone, featured actor Tom Hanks, who was also appearing in his first film.
In addition to Vacation, Dana’s film credits include Heaven Help Us (1985), Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987), The Face of Alexandre Dumas: The Man in the Iron Mask (1996), and Night Class (2001). Dana Barron revived the role of Audrey Griswold in the television film, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003). Dana has a son, named Taylor, with the writer and director Michael Vickerman.
