Born on June 15, 1971 to father Stu Schwartz and mother Frances Schwartz in Montvale situated in New Jersey, United States of America, Dana Bash’s birth name was Dana Ruth Schwartz. She spent her childhood growing up with his three siblings in New Jersey. She completed her schooling from the Pascack Hills High School situated in Montvale. She then went on to complete her degree in political communications from the George Washington University and graduated in the year 1993 from there. Being the daughter of a broadcast producer, her interest in journalism was ignited at a very young age. After her graduation in the year 1993 from the George Washington University, she went on to join CNN as a library assistant in the network’s office situated in Washington D.C. Her hard work and determination helped her get promoted to an editor in that bureau. She worked and coordinated the coverage of Capitol Hill and also the news regarding the important matters of the state. She also played an important role in the America’s Choice election coverage in the year 2012 and was responsible for reporting from the various voting centers and field. She was also the one to report the STOCK ACT loophole in the year 2012. This helped her win the Everett McKinley Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress. Currently, she works as the political correspondent for CNN and is also responsible for the coverage of the Republican field during the presidential coverage of 2016.

She got married to Jeremy Bash in the year 1998, but the marriage ended in 2007. After her divorce, she got married to the CNN co-worker John King in the year 2008. Dana and her husband became the proud parents of a son in the year 2011. This marriage eventually also ended in divorce in the year 2012.
