Background

David Begnaud is from state of Louisiana. He started his career as a journalist after secondary school by filling in as a columnist for KLFY TV 10 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Begnaud got a four year college education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in general studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2005.

Career

David’s reporting has been highlighted over CBS News broadcasts and platforms including CBS This Morning, the CBS Evening News, 48 Hours, CBS Sunday Morning and CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 streaming news service.

Begnaud got his big break when he worked for Newsbreaker at ORATV, based out of Los Angeles, CA. Later on he worked at KTLA in Los Angeles from 2010 to 2012 and KOVR in Sacramento from 2007 to 2010. He joined CBS News in August 2015 as a Miami-based reporter and was moved to the Network's Dallas station in January 2017.

In September 2017, Begnaud was sent by CBS News to investigate Hurricane Irma and stayed in Puerto Rico for Hurricane Maria. From different areas in Puerto Rico, Begnaud recorded numerous reports of conditions on the ground that were broadcast through CBS News.
