She met Christopher Lambert in 1984 and had an affair with him for a  few months. They split up and met again after two years. They were starring together in ‘After the rain’ when they started to have an intimate relationship, again. They got married in 1988 and she had a daughter through this marriage. They filed for a divorce in 1994 after being separated for a very long time. In 2003, she got engaged to Josh Brolin and got married in 2004. After four months, she turned to police against her husband for domestic battery. It was said that they were having an argument and he hit her. Diane did not press charges, but as per the law, he was arrested and was left after  $20,000 bail. Josh said that the whole incident was a misunderstanding. Josh was married and divorced once before he got married to Diane. Apart from being arrested for hitting his wife, he was also arrested for getting into a lot of fights, under alcohol. They got divorced in 2013.

The separation settlements are not known to public. She announced that she does want the child support and spousal support. She said that she and Brolin talked about sharing the financial assets. Alcoholism was one of the reasons for the separation and it was said that he checked into a rehab to get out of the habit. The reason for the separation was cited as irreconcilable differences. She did not have any children with him. She was also rumored to have had an intimate relationship with Richard Gere, just before her separation. After the separation, they both were seen together a lot. Richard is known to flirt with women who are vulnerable and who are in need of a support. This relationship also added pressure on his marital life. His spouse Carry Lowell was not happy about this little relationship that Richard called as, ‘consoling a friend’.

She and Christopher got separated for a very long time and she was not having any boyfriend at that time. She met Josh long after the separation. Christopher was also not known to have cheated on her with any secret girlfriend. Christoper started dating Jaimyse after their separation and got married to her in 1999. It was said that they were away from each other for many months, before she showed up without her wedding ring. The separation decision was mutual and the settlement was also smooth. She never talked about her separation from Christopher. He said that after the separation, both of them stayed as friends. He said that he was very sad when he heard about her separation from Josh. In 2013, soon after her separation from Josh, she started dating Edward Norton and was seen in an event with him. The seriousness of the relationship is not known yet. She never announced that she is dating him, neither did Edward. There were no news about them getting separated either.
