Diego Godí’s full name is Diego Roberto Godin Leal. He was born in 16 February in the year 1986. He is an Uruguay professional footballer and plays for the Spanish Club under the name of Atletico Madrid while playing also for the Uruguay National team where he is a central defender. He spent most of the professional career in the city of Spain and he represents Atletico Madrid and Villarreal. He won six major titles with his team. As a Uruguay international from 2005, he had appeared in two different world cups with four Copa America Tournaments when he won 2011 edition for the latter competition.

From his biography, Diego Godín, was born in the city of Rosario and he started the football career together with C.A and transferred to be on the top division powerhouse club for Club Nacional de Football and he become the captain faster because of professionalism and maturity.

In the year 2007, Godin had to sign five year deal together with La Liga under Villarreal CF. He represented his nation to the 2007 Copa America when he played in the opening of 0-3 defeat against Peru and lost his place to Andre Scotti who was playing under La Celeste Run and stayed on the Fourth Place.

Godin was chosen to be in the squad of the 2010 FIFA World Cup that took place in South Africa and he started the opening match that was played against France in the city of Cape Town.
