Donald Adeosun Faison is an actor, comedian and voice actor. He was born to Donald and Shirley Faison on June 22, 1974 in Harlem, New York City, USA. His father was a building manager and his mother, a talent agent. He has two siblings, Olamide and Dade. Both his parents were active members of the National Black Theatre in Harlem. He was influenced by his mother whom he watched directing rehearsals. He credits his career success to his mother.
Faison studied in Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School and La Guardia High School for Music, Art and Performing Arts. Although Faison was no stranger to acting, being in the limelight, his career really picked up in 1992. As a child he acted in school plays and television commercials. He is best known for his leading role as Dr. Chris Turk in the television comedy drama Scrubs (2001-2010). It brought him major fame. The series Scrubs is a comedy about medical interns. He loved going to work every day and being part of the cast. The critical and popular successful series really made him, a famous star.
He also had a minor role as Murray in the hit movie Clueless in 1995. The movie is a cult classic and a television series was made with the same name. The TV series Clueless was aired between 1996 and 1999 and Faison played the role of Murray. He also appeared on the hit television series Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and New York Undercover in 1996-1998. In another television show Felicity (1999-2001), he had a recurring role. As fame and fortune would have it, Faison soon featured in celebrity gossip shows and magazines.
Some of Faisons popular movies are Juice opposite rapper Tupac Shakur (1992), Sugar Hill (1993) with Wesley Snipes, Waiting to Exhale (1995) with Angela Basset and the movie that really made him famous Clueless (1995). Between 1996 and 2000, Faison concentrated on doing roles in TV series. His later movies include Remember the Titans (2000), Josie and the Pussycats (2001), Big Fat Liar (2002), Uptown Girls (2003), Something New (2006), Next Day Air (2009) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013). He is indeed a very busy actor. He enjoys his work and the busy schedule suits him perfectly. He was nominated for many awards and won the Audelco Rising Star Award.
Faison had two marriages. He married Lisa Askey in 2001 and the couple divorced in 2005. He met her at a party and she thought, he was ugly. Nonetheless, she gave him her phone number and the two soon started dating. Minka Kelly was Faison’s girlfriend with whom he had a relationship for a year (2004-2005) before they split. He later dated CaCee Cobb for six years and married her in December 2012. Faison has five children, Sean, Dade, Kaya, Kobe and Rocco. Sean was born in 1997 from his previous relationship with the actress-singer Audrey Ince whom he had an affair with for 3 years from 1994 to 1997. Askey is the mother of the fraternal twins Dade and Kaya, and Kobe. Cobb is the mother of Rocco born in 2013. Faison is truly indeed the ladies man!
