He is the son of Marian, a teacher's assistant, and Wesley Rudolph Snipes, an aircraft engineer. Snipes spent his early years in the Bronx, New York, where he attended the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Performing Arts. However, he moved back to Florida before graduating and completed his education at Jones High School in Orlando.
Snipes later returned to New York to study drama at the State University of New York at Purchase. He continued his education at Southwest College in Los Angeles, California, further honing his skills in acting and performance.
