The young Dustin started off playing with the Little League where he instantly ended up being the smallest but the best player in field.
However in High School he joined the freshmen football team and his career would have taken a different route if not for the ankle injury caused by the NFL star Lance Briggs in the fall of 2001. Eventually, Dustin recovered and rose up from his injury to join Woodland High Varsity baseball team and there was no looking back ever since.
