Where it all began

Dustin Pedroia was born to Guy and Debbie, owners of a tire shop in Woodland, California on 17th of August in 1983. The vast agricultural fields of his homeland, tough work ethics of his parents, his elder brother who was a baseball fan, all moulded him to be the player he is now. One could almost say the universe conspired to make him what he is today. The young Dustin started off playing with the Little League where he instantly ended up being the smallest but the best player in field.

However in High School he joined the freshmen football team and his career would have taken a different route if not for the ankle injury caused by the NFL star Lance Briggs in the fall of 2001. Eventually, Dustin recovered and rose up from his injury to join Woodland High Varsity baseball team and there was no looking back ever since.

Life of a Winner

Pedroia has very powerful fangraphs and stats under his belt with quite a lot of glorious awards and titles to his name. Pedroia, along with his team mate Mookie Betts won the 2016 Fielding Bible awards in spite of the various knee and other surgeries he underwent in last October.

He is the fourth highest paid player in the Boston Red Sox with the base salary of fifteen million dollars and has a net worth of twenty million dollars. Red Sox has him signed to their contract through the 2021 season. Pedroia is interestingly an intense but fun character. He likes to play Cribbage so much that he used to play a hand with his manager Terry Francona prior to each game!

Pedroia is a Twitter celebrity with a following of 42300 fans. He posts on his twitter handle @15Lasershow intermittently about his games, interests and life. He also updates his Facebook and Instagram pages as well.

Away from the Limelight

Apart from being an all-star player, Dustin is the superstar of his family too. Dustin and his beautiful wife Kelli Hatley have three sons named Dylan, Cole and Brooks. The couple got married in 2016 after dating for many years. Kelli is a prominent personality involved in many charities and foundations.

Being a Melanoma survivor at a young age of eighteen, she is presently the spokeswoman for Melanoma Foundation of New England. Pedroia himself involves in charitable work, his ‘Pedroia’s Platoon’ticket program has garnered much attention where he invites military members and their families to spend time with him during his batting practices and watch games at Fenway.
