Dwyane Wade is an NBA basketball player who is nicknamed as D-Wade or the Flash. He was the sportsman of the year for 2006. He has been married and faced divorce once. He is now currently engaged to his present girlfriend ,Gabrielle Union.Wade married his high school sweetheart in 2002. He filed for the divorce in 2007 and his marriage life ended in 2010 after a messy court battle. He has the sole custody of his two sons. Though his divorce settlement came up to 5 million dollars, his ex-wife was found on the streets, a few days later claiming that she is homeless because her husband’s lawyer lamented about her unstable mental status. Bur Wade announced that he is paying his wife about 25 thousand dollars as monthly payment and she gets to keep his mansion.
She claimed that he is not sharing the millions of dollars he gained in his endorsement and refused to pay 300 thousand dollars as spouse support to keep her off the street. In the divorce settlement, Wade has asked his wife not to publicly abuse him, the relationship or his girlfriend . However, it did not look like she is taking that part well. The court said that if she could abuse her in his book; she could do the same, without any legal concern.
There were a lot of issues in the custody of their sons and at last, the court ruled in favor of Wade. Wade said that he did fight for full custody but things did not work out and he was not allowed to see his kids as he requested. He said he might have been a terrible husband but he is a very good father, who never walks away from his responsibilities. He said it is almost six years and he is hoping that one day he and his ex would be able to grow a civil relationship between them, just for the sake of their sons. There are reports that his ex, Siohvaughn was falsely alleged as mentally unstable to deprive of a few basic rights. The court said that the judgment should not be in favor of Wade just because of his fame and popularity.
Wade’s childhood saw many transitions from place to place with his mother and two step sisters. One of his sisters sent him off to his father’s house because she did not want him to get involved with drugs. In his father’s house, he started playing basketball with his step brothers and their friends including Siohvaughn who became his first date and his first girlfriend . They even went to senior prom together. They were together all through their high school life. She was a year elder to him. When his father and stepmother had problems, Siohvaughn’s mother offered him a home during his senior year. Recently, Gabrielle posted on the internet that she is engaged to her long time boyfriend , Dwyane. The engagement ring is about 8.5 carat diamond ring. It is the second marriage for both the bride and the groom. She was previously married to Chris Howard, the football player.
