Adelaide Clemens was born on November 30, 1989, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Her father is of English descent, and due to his career in marketing, the family moved frequently during her early years. Adelaide spent parts of her childhood living in Japan, France (including the town of Cognac), and Hong Kong.
While residing in Hong Kong, Adelaide attended Hong Kong International School. After returning to Australia, she completed her secondary education at Queenwood School for Girls, a private day and boarding school located in Balmoral, Sydney.
Adelaide Clemens began her acting career in 2006 while still in high school. Her television debut was on the Australian teen drama series Blue Water High. In 2007, she played Alison in the children’s television series Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji. Her breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed series Love My Way, where her performance earned her a Logie Award nomination in 2008.
In 2009, Clemens relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. She landed a minor role in the Hollywood blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine, marking her debut in American cinema. In 2012, she played the title role in Camilla Dickinson, a film adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle’s novel. She described the project as deeply meaningful and expressed excitement over its strong narrative.
The same year, she appeared as Mia in the indie drama Generation Um.... Clemens gained more recognition for her lead dual role as Heather Mason and Sharon Da Silva in the 3D psychological horror film Silent Hill: Revelation (2012).

Despite her demanding schedule, Clemens took on notable film roles, including Catherine in Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby. In 2015, she appeared in two independent films: The World Made Straight and The Automatic Hate.
Standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 58 kilograms, Adelaide Clemens is known for her striking features, including blonde hair and blue eyes. As of 2015, her estimated net worth was around $4 million, with a reported annual income of approximately $500,000.
Though she maintains a public profile, Clemens leads a relatively private life. She has a presence on Instagram but remains minimally active, with a modest number of posts and followers. At the time, she was 26 years old and noted for her refreshing sincerity. She has expressed admiration for actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Leonardo DiCaprio, citing their commitment to their craft as inspirational.
