Carin Kingsland was born on October 15, 1973 in California and was raised in a Mexican American family. She is a beautician that is known for being the wife of former rock star and current TV personality, Mark McGrath.
Upbringing
She spent her childhood years in Rancho Cucamonga, which is an affluent city situated at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County, California. It is located 37 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. During her time in high school, Kingsland was able to attend the Cosmetology Career Center. It was a Community College program funded by her high school. It gave their students the chance to learn professional skills that could be applied after graduation. She enjoyed her time there very much and decided to continue her beauty studies at the local Community College.
After working as a beautician in her neighborhood for a couple of years, she made a life-changing decision to move the most popular city in the state. In Los Angeles, the amount of ladies to reach as clients was much bigger. Having more clients meant more income for the young beautician and a greater chance to gain experience and open up her own business. Carin felt it was worth the risk to move to the famous city so that she could seek better career opportunities.
Falling in Love with a Rock Star
In 1994, she met her future husband, Mark McGrath who was the lead singer of the rock band, Sugar Ray. Their meeting happened in a legendary night club known as The Vipers Room. The venue was famous before of the young actor River Phoenix’s death in 1993, when he died on the night club’s porch. It is believed his death was caused by overdosing on heroine. Even after the tragic death, the club was still very popular among famous actors and musicians, mostly because Johnny Depp was the owner of.
The moment Mark and Carin first met, McGrath told her, “I think I love you”. Carin was impressed by his charm and gave him her phone number. That moment was the first chapter of their love story.
Many of Mark’s fans wondered why Mark was hesitating with marriage after dating Carin for almost eighteen years. The answer was given in his wedding announcement that he posted in Twitter, “After 18 years of break ups, make ups, beautiful twins and an unwavering love that provided some pretty damn good song lyrics, we are happy to announce that we are finally married”.
The truth is that Mark’s fame seriously affected the couple’s relationship. The popular musician was spoiled by fame and was always looking for new temptations to distract him. Throughout his career, there were rumors that he had flings with high profile celebrities like Madonna and Carmen Electra. In 2002, during one of his breaks from Carin, he dated models Rachel Hunter and Michelle Ruben. In 2003, he dated the famous socialite Paris Hilton. In 2005, he had a relationship not only with Sara Foster, but also with famous model and actress Pamela Anderson as well.

After having a hard time conceiving, McGrath opened up to Parent Dish, saying, “I tried my hardest the conventional way, but that didn’t work out for us. We did the IVF thing. It was intense and expensive, but we did it in one shot and, boom, here they are. My job now is to be the best parent I can be because that is all that matters.”
He was madly in love with Carin and very excited about being a father. He gushed to the Daily News, “These two kids will be the luckiest kids in the world in terms of their mom, that’s for sure. They’ll get a lot of love.” Kingsland was equally excited about her new family and posted their photos on Twitter to celebrate Father’s Day.

Raising children hasn't stopped the pair from having fun nights together. Kingsland explained their date nights to The Agency, "Without the kids, we like to go catch a movie at the ArcLight. They have adult theaters there so I can have a glass of wine and unwind! Mark and I tend to do more day dates. We love lunching together and shopping. We love the original Katsu-ya on the corner of Colfax and Ventura."

Mimi is flabbergasted when she sees how the twins have complete control over the household.
