Born in Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada, on June 24, 1982, Jarret Lee Stoll is a retired professional ice hockey player who played for four National Hockey League (NHL) teams during his career. He completed his early education at Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton before attending St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon.
Stoll developed a passion for ice hockey from an early age, beginning his involvement in the sport in the small town of Neudorf, Saskatchewan. He later moved to Melville and then to Yorkton to further play minor hockey. In 1997, he helped his team win the provincial Bantam championship. While in Saskatoon, Stoll played for the Saskatoon Blazers, a prominent midget AAA team, showcasing his growing talents on the ice.
In 1997, while still playing for Yorkton, Stoll was selected by the Edmonton Ice in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He made his WHL debut during the 1997–98 season. When the franchise relocated to Cranbrook, British Columbia, the team was renamed the Kootenay Ice. Stoll captained the Kootenay Ice to a Memorial Cup championship, marking an important milestone in his junior career.
Stoll represented Canada internationally at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002. The Canadian team won a bronze medal in 2001 and improved to a silver medal in 2002. That same year, he was named captain of Canada's national junior team, highlighting his leadership and skill at the international level.
Stoll began his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers, playing in four games during the 2002–03 season. He became a full-time player in the following seasons and was designated an alternate captain for select road games. His strong two-way play and faceoff abilities made him a reliable center for Edmonton's roster.
In 2008, Stoll signed a four-year, $14.4 million deal with the Los Angeles Kings. During the 2008–09 season, he became one of the team's top scorers in the Western Conference and earned recognition for his clutch performance, including a critical goal against the Vancouver Canucks. Stoll was part of the Kings' Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2012 and 2014, contributing both offensively and defensively throughout the playoffs.
Following the Kings' 2014 Stanley Cup win, Stoll signed with the New York Rangers on August 10, 2015. While he began the season with promising play, his production declined, registering only one goal and three points in 29 games. On December 15, 2015, he was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Wild, where he completed the season. This marked the final chapter of his NHL playing career.
Off the ice, Stoll is involved in community service through the Jarret Stoll Comfort Fund, a charitable initiative that supports individuals and families in need, especially those dealing with illness.
His personal life has attracted media attention over the years. Stoll was previously engaged to model and actress Rachel Hunter; however, the wedding was called off just days before the scheduled date in August 2009. More recently, he has been in a relationship with Erin Andrews, a well-known sportscaster.
As of August 6, 2015, Jarret Stoll's net worth was estimated at approximately $16 million, amassed through his contracts and endorsements during his NHL career. In 2015, he was arrested in Nevada for possession of illegal substances. Despite the incident, his fan base remained strong across social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, underscoring his continued popularity and public support.
