Jarret Stoll

Born in Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada, on June 24, 1982, Jarret Lee Stoll is a retired professional ice hockey player who played for four National Hockey League (NHL) teams during his career. He completed his early education at Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton before attending St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon.

Early Life and Minor Hockey

Stoll developed a passion for ice hockey from an early age, beginning his involvement in the sport in the small town of Neudorf, Saskatchewan. He later moved to Melville and then to Yorkton to further play minor hockey. In 1997, he helped his team win the provincial Bantam championship. While in Saskatoon, Stoll played for the Saskatoon Blazers, a prominent midget AAA team, showcasing his growing talents on the ice.

Junior Hockey and International Play

In 1997, while still playing for Yorkton, Stoll was selected by the Edmonton Ice in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He made his WHL debut during the 1997–98 season. When the franchise relocated to Cranbrook, British Columbia, the team was renamed the Kootenay Ice. Stoll captained the Kootenay Ice to a Memorial Cup championship, marking an important milestone in his junior career.

Stoll represented Canada internationally at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002. The Canadian team won a bronze medal in 2001 and improved to a silver medal in 2002. That same year, he was named captain of Canada's national junior team, highlighting his leadership and skill at the international level.

NHL Career with the Edmonton Oilers

Stoll began his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers, playing in four games during the 2002–03 season. He became a full-time player in the following seasons and was designated an alternate captain for select road games. His strong two-way play and faceoff abilities made him a reliable center for Edmonton's roster.

Success with the Los Angeles Kings

In 2008, Stoll signed a four-year, $14.4 million deal with the Los Angeles Kings. During the 2008–09 season, he became one of the team's top scorers in the Western Conference and earned recognition for his clutch performance, including a critical goal against the Vancouver Canucks. Stoll was part of the Kings' Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2012 and 2014, contributing both offensively and defensively throughout the playoffs.
