<p>In the wake of securing a deal with Fox, Walsh began the true-crime show <em>America's Most Wanted</em> in 1988. Walsh wanted to engage in activities to help to miss and abused kids. <em>America's Most Wanted</em> was the longest-running true-crime reality show in Fox's history and helped capture more than 1,000 criminals. Fox ended the program in June 2011 but created four specials during the 2011-12 television season.</p>

<p>On December 2, 2011, the show returned on a different network called Lifetime. In March 2013, Lifetime formally ended the program. Walsh then produced his daytime television show, <em>The John Walsh Show</em>, syndicated from 2002 to 2004 on NBC.</p>
