Kimberly Porter was born on December 16, 1971, in Columbus, GA. She passed away on November 15, 2018, in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, California. She was a former American model who was most famous for relationship with rapper and entertainment superstar, <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> “Puff Daddy Combs”. She was also the founder of the group called “Three Brown Girls” and she was also a member of “Girl 6”.

Early Life

When she was young, Kim dreamed of pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a professional model and she started off in the small town area of her hometown. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1988. After her graduation, she decided to move from her home town and to the big city of Atlanta to pursue her dream of modeling. She was proud of her hometown but she knew that she needed to head elsewhere to make it big. While staying there, she met <a href="/biography/al-b-sure">Al B. Sure</a> and they both fell in love and started dating.

When Kim was in a relationship with <a href="/biography/al-b-sure">Al B. Sure</a>, Kim got pregnant and the couple had a baby boy whom they named after the famous musician named <a href="/biography/quincy-jones">Quincy Jones</a>, who was Kim’s mentor. However, the love journey of Porter and Sure soon came to an end. Kim didn’t despair too long because her next partner would be a very nice fit with her.

She found a life partner in <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> and felt that he would always be there for her. He was her first serious relationship and she had full trust in him. Kim had had a baby boy with <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean Combs</a> and they named him Christian Casey Combs. The couple then had twin daughters on December 21, 2006. They named their twins, D'Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs after Kim’s great grandmothers. They now had a full bunch with three children. It was something that Kim always dreamed about. They got separated when Porter found out that her husband fathered a child with another woman. As a result of his infidelity, <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> was sued and ordered to pay a child support amount of $42,000. The money is equally distributed between his son, who gets $20,000 and his daughters who get the remaining $22,000.

She left the relationship in a dramatic way, she waited until <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> was out of town and then she packed up the house. She took the cars, the nursery furniture, the kitchen table, and everything that she could. In an interview with Essence, Kim explained how her breakup with <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Puff Daddy</a> happened. “There was no other way. You think he would have let me walk out the door? He wouldn’t have wanted me to go. I wasn’t scared. Not at all. But I wanted to be dramatic. I wanted him to know I wasn’t breaking up with him for two weeks or maybe leaving for two days. If I pack up everything twins and all, it means I’m out! <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Puffy</a>’s an <a href="/biography/sean-combs">action person</a>, not a talk person. So I had to have an action. Telling him, “Babe, I’m leaving” was not gonna do it.

When asked how they were getting along since the breakup, Kim said, “You know how when two people go their separate ways, most of the time there’s animosity? It’s not like that with us. <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> and I have this bond, this friendship. It’s not about ‘if you’re faithful to me, if I’m being faithful to you.’ We’re friends. I’m the person he can tell his inner most thoughts to and he’s that person for me. He still calls me everyday and we talk. There’s no ill feeling or ‘I can’t stand you, I hate you, don’t call.’ There’s none of that. We have three children together so that’s just not an option. We’re committed to our children even if we couldn’t commit to each other.”

Personal Life

It was rumored that even though they are separated, <a href="/biography/sean-combs">Sean</a> insisted on spending time with his children, especially on their birthdays. Kim on the other hand has been sued twice in the course of 2 months by her nannies for a variety of reasons such as excessive workload, underpayments and other issues. Despite of her relatively mature age, the nannies claim that Kim was using drugs in front of her children.

Death of Kim Porter

Kim’s representative Cindi Berger, confirmed to USA TODAY that Kim was found unresponsive in her San Fernando Valley home and pronounced dead at the age of 47. She was said to be in cardiac arrest and there was speculation that the autopsy would find evidence of a drug overdose.
