Career
On Chappelle's Show, Chappelle and Brennan composed and produced essentially every sketch pm on the program themselves. In the second season of the popular show, Brennan was permitted to formally direct, and was in charge of famous skits like "Charlie Murphy/Rick James," "The Racial Draft," "Charlie Murphy/Prince," and the "John Mayer Sketch."
Brennan got three Emmy nominations for Chappelle's Show. He got one for directing "Rick James," and he got the other two for writing and creating the show. Chappelle's Show is the bestselling TV program DVD ever, moving almost nine million units worldwide.
Brennan keeps on performing stand-up comedy normally in the Los Angeles area but he also tours the country. His first one-hour stand-up special Women and Black Dudes debuted on Comedy Central in 2014.
In 2017, Brennan released his second one-hour stand-up special called 3 Mics on Netflix to high praise and acclaim from credits and fellow comedians. 3 Mics features Brennan switching between three different microphones symbolizing three distinct styles of comedy. It was a unique way to present a comedy special that no one had ever seen.
