Tabitha Furyk is known as the wife of pro golfing star Jim Furyk, who was the winner of the 2018 US Ryder Cup.
Tabitha Furyk was born on November 22, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio. Tabitha spent all of her childhood in her native city of Columbus. Her hometown is very near and dear to her heart. She has a lot of fond memories of growing up in the midwest. She didn't envy the big city life that she saw portrayed on T.V. shows and films.
She graduated in 1995 from her university with a specialization in elementary education. Tabitha was a fresh graduate at the age of 25 when she started work with a real estate company.
Tabitha got married to PGA golfer Jim Furyk. After a long relationship, he got on one knee and proposed to her when he won the U.S Open Tournament in 2000 at Pebble Beach. She was so happy when she said yes to his proposal because Furyk knew that he was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
Jim explained how he met Tabitha in an interview with Golf Digest, "I was a second-year player on the PGA Tour, Tabitha worked at Muirfield Realty, right next to where we played the Memorial at Muirfield. Her boss at the time was a gentleman by the name of Ray Hustek, who took the week off of work to do a radio show called 'Mr. Golf.' And he would cut into the show with an update of something going on at the tournament every 20 minutes. "I walked off the green and was goofing around with some kids, and Tabitha caught my eye, so I said hello to her. I was a little shy about going up and talking to her. Then Ray came up to interview me. So the whole while he was interviewing me, I kind of positioned myself so that I could keep checking her out. And [Ray] noticed, and he's the one that ended up introducing us and getting us started."
Tabitha says the proposal occurred when they went out to dinner and decided to take a walk along the beach. To Tabitha's surprise, all of a sudden, Jim was down on one knee to pop the question of a lifetime. It was a memory that Tabitha will never forget but also a bittersweet memory for Jim. That year, he finished at a disappointing 60th place, but at least he secured the love of his life.
They have two children together. The first one is a sweet girl named Caleigh Lynn, born a couple of years after getting married in 2002. The other one is a boy named Tanner who was born in 2004. Furyk won the U.S. Open tournament in between the birth of his two children. Having children gave Jim extra fuel to succeed in his career. He was no longer playing for himself, and he was now playing for his family. He wanted to be as successful as he could be to make the most money possible and provide for his family. He also wanted to earn a reputation as a top golfer so that his children could one day look back and see how much their father accomplished in his line of work.

Tabitha loves to stand up for her hubby, and Jim has said that she is very contentious. He once told a golf announcer and host David Feherty that Tabitha defended him at the PGA Championship when a group of annoying fans began mocking him. Tabitha approached the group to set them straight. After their conversation, the heckling stopped. It's not clear what Tabitha said, but it can only be assumed that she threatened terrible things for the hecklers if they didn't stop their behavior.
One of Jim's closest friends is another pro golfer named Phil Mickelson. They developed a close bond because they both turned pro in 1992 and rose to fame, and climbed Golf's world rankings together. They traveled the world together and became more than fellow golfers. They were ecstatic when their wives got along with each other. Phil's wife Amy hit it off with Tabitha because they shared some of the same experiences. They traded stories with each other and related to how life was to be married to a pro golfer. They also traveled together when their husbands brought them along to their tournaments.
Tabitha Furyk is highly involved in charity work. She donates her life to helping the poor, helpless, hopeless, and unprivileged families and children. She runs a non-profit foundation with her husband, Jim. The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation was established in 2010, and they work for needy and impoverished children and families. They give them food and shelter.
Besides running her foundation, Tabitha works and helps children suffering from life-threatening diseases. She donates funds to nurses to take care of these children. Furyk also raises funds for research purposes in the field of oncology and pediatric neurology. She organizes programs to raise funds for needy families and children. She convinced people to contribute money to the campaigns she runs for needy families.
Tabitha Furyk has also been a member of the PGA Tour Wife Charity for over 20 years. It is a non-profit organization that helps needy and helpless families with no food, medical assistance, or basic needs.
