Phil Alfred Mickelson was born in 1970, June 16 in San Diego, California. His father Philip is a pilot. Phil has spent his childhood in both San Diego and Scottsdale. Despite the fact that the golfer is right-handed he has this weird trait of playing the game left-handed. This happened because growing up he spent his time watching his father swing a club and mirroring the style of his parent. Mickelson was playing golf before he began going to school. Because of his father's job the two had enough time to spend together and most if was playing golf where father taught his son everything there is to know about the sport. Phil Mickelson attended Sand Diego High School and finished it in the year 1988.

Early career

Phil enrolled at Arizona State University thanks to the scholarship he received because of his great abilities to play golf. He finished his studies in 1992. While being a student at the university Mickelson because a face that would represent amateur golf in the United States of America. He had won numerous tournaments and competitions including Haskins Awards as well as NCAA individual competition. He became the first golfer who has a left swing to win the title of amateur golf competition. The athlete also managed to win his first PGA tour in 1991 when he was still considered to be an amateur. The golfer was rising to stardom at the age of twenty and while still attending a university.

Professional career

The golfer began his professional career after graduating from the university and is considered to be one of the best players to ever play the great sport of golf. Despite the fact that he participated in a lot of different competitions Mickelson never managed to win a major trophy until the year 2004. It was the year that he got the title he dreamed of for so long. The golfer then went on to win numerous different competitions and became one of the richest golfers on the planet. Despite the success in the past, Phil had some rough patches during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and decided it was a time for changes. He hired a new swing coach and the pair has been working to get the golfer back on track to victories.

Phil Mickelson got married to Amy Mickelson. The husband and wife have three children – Evan, Sophia, and Amanda.

During his long and vivid career, Phil had many sponsors. These include the likes of Rolex, Barclays, and Ford.

The golfer weighs 200 pounds and is 6 feet and 3 inches tall.

He was diagnosed with psoriatic arthropathy in 2000 but it did not bother Phil as he continued and still continues to play the game he loves so much.

Beginning his career during his time in childhood Phil has learned so much from his father which was without his biggest influence.
