Michael Todd Chrisley  was born on April 6, 1969, in Georgia, USA, into a simple family. He grew up in Westminster situated in South Carolina, alongside with his two brothers Randy and Derrick.  Todd Chrisley  and his long time girlfriend Teresa Terry got married when they were 21 and 19 years of age respectivesly. Teresa claimed that Todd physically, as well as mentally abused her, several times during their seven years long marriage, which ultimately made her file a case of domestic violence against him. Speaking exclusive interview with MailOnline, Teresa has revealed the truth about her seven-year marriage to Chrisley and the acrimonious end that saw her bring a domestic violence case against the reality TV star. Chrisley is accused of waging a 'campaign of mental and physical abuse,' of 'battering' his ex-wife multiple times, once with 'his closed fist' after stripping her naked. In a string of allegations, all hotly contested by Chrisley, it is claimed that he wielded a knife and threatened to kill her and that, on one occasion, she witnessed him beating his own mother. According to Teresa, Kyle suffered most from the tumult in his parents’ relationship. Todd is an unpredictable, control freak. According to Teressa, ‘I don’t know what happened to Todd really. I’ve known him a very long time and I know that he’s not all bad. There’s good in him. He can be very witty and fun company, but if he doesn’t get what he wants you’d better believe there will be consequences.’

Todd has filed for bankruptcy protection in 2012. According to the documents, Todd filed a petition for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in August 2012. Although he listed more than $4.2 million in assets, his debts totaled $49.4 million. In 2014 Todd agreed to pay $150,000,  in exchange for dropping claims against him and his wife of almost 20 years, Julie Chrisley, and his former business partner, Mark Braddock, to settle his bankruptcy case. During the proceedings, the trustee grew suspicious of the Chrisley bankruptcy filing and began to investigate whether the couple were hiding their money. But two years later, he still owes $70,000, according to legal documents with DialyMail.com. The matter is back in the courts.

Tax troubles: Earlier this year, Chrisley was hit with a federal tax lien by the IRS, accusing him of owing a total of $590,000 in unpaid taxes.
